Hamburg (ots) - Thomas Anders (44) likes to visit the church.

"For me the church is a residence of God where I can find peace. But when we talk about the church as organization, I begin to doubt", - said the singer in his interview for "Frau im Spiegel".

In spite of the fact that Thomas grew within the catholic realm and even sang in the church choir, he regards the Catholic Church censoriously.

"I wish it to become a little bit more open and more modern." He’s not a church member anymore. "I've paid such a great church duty that it would be enough for having a personal priest. I prefer direct donations, including ones made for church organizations."

On December, 4-17 Anders is traveling across the churches of the whole Germany with his Christmas program. The concerts are announced as a possibility to dispose to the Christmas mood.

"Церковь для меня - это дом Божий, в котором я обретаю покой. Но когда речь идет о церкви как учреждении, я начинаю колебаться", - сообщил певец в интервью журналу FRAU IM SPIEGEL.

Несмотря на то, что Томас воспитывался в католическом духе и даже был церковным служкой, он критически относится к католической церкви.

"Я хотел бы видеть ее немного более открытой и более современной". Он больше не является ее членом. "Я заплатил такой большой церковный налог, что мне хватило бы на собственного пастора. Я чаще жертвую напрямую, в том числе, и в церковные учреждения".

С 4 по 17 декабря Андерс путешествует с рождественской программой по церквям по всей Германии. Концерты анонсированы как "возможность настроиться на время рождества и святок".
